Responsibilities

• Annual predoctoral trainee selection (typically in Summer after 1st-year students join trainer labs, for awards effective August 1).
• Annual progress review of existing predoctoral trainees.
• Review of faculty applications for trainer status upon receipt.
• Annual review of existing trainers.
• Curriculum development and oversight.
• Planning and organization for recruitment of new trainees including members of underrepresented minorities.
• Miscellaneous planning and organization including website development and scheduling regular meetings of trainer labs for research presentations, in coordination with the MPHRG.
• Consideration of trainee or trainer appeals for exceptions to particular program requirements and any programmatic or individual issues or grievances raised by trainees or trainers.
